Teamwork!

We’re right in the middle of our Jungle Quest (insert action here) holiday club, and it struck me yesterday how quickly the team pulled together and worked really well as one unit, united in serving Jesus through caring for His children! It reminded me of Paul’s description of the body of Christ (the Church) in 1 Corinthians, and I want to use these verses to encourage you guys, as part of St Nic’s worship team, today!

Here’s a small snippet of what Paul says…

“For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many….

But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.”

1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 18-20

What a joy it is that, by His Spirit, God has given us all a unique role in serving Him, and that those roles all come together to serve Him as a united body! In your serving as part of the St Nic’s worship team, God has given you all the gift of musicianship, but each one of you brings something beautifully unique, special and different to the team. God has placed you just where He wants you to be, using the gifts He has equipped you with. What a delight it is to come together to serve the church each week, putting all of those unique gifts together to form a united band, to worship our God who generously gives us those gifts! It’s been such a joy to get to know and hear the different gifts each of bring to St Nic’s worship team, and I’m so excited to see how God continues to bring us closer together as a team over the next few months.
