Students at St Nic’s
Thank you for checking out our web site.
As you can see, we are an evangelical Anglican church that is located in
the city centre. We have around four hundred members and about forty to
fifty students who have made St Nic’s their home.
On a Sunday we have three services. A 9 am quiet liturgical service, followed by a 10.30 am lively family style service, and in the evening a more contemporary service that starts at 7 pm – sunday@seven – aimed mainly at young adults. The morning and evening services follow their own distinct Bible teaching programmes.
Quite a few of our students come along to the 10.30 am service because of the family feel and then come along to sunday@seven too because of the quality of the worship and the teaching. From time to time after sunday@seven there is food and fellowship.
You are more than welcome to come along each Sunday but we would encourage our students who make St Nic’s their home church to get involved. By doing so you will quickly start to feel a real part of the church family.
There are loads of different ways to get involved. You could join a cell group, help out with our growing youth and children’s work, sign up for one of our worship bands, or get stuck into the Aspire project for the homeless. These are just a few of the things that go on in the life of the church. We are also involved in two inner city areas, Sneinton and the Meadows and there are opportunities to get involved there too.
Once every two years we hold a Parish Weekend. We go to the Swanwick Centre where we have great teaching, fellowship, and fun. The last one was in February 2008.
At St Nic’s we want you to feel part of our church family so we have set up a scheme where you can be ‘adopted’ and regularly fed by members of the church. If you are interesed, or just want to meet me for a natter please contact me.
