Social Concern
Jesus commanded us to show genuine concern for others by meeting their physical
needs. In this way others will see Christ at work in and through us. At
St Nic’s social concern is an integral part of our life together and
we set apart a percentage of our income each year to spend in this area. On
Sunday evenings, we provide a baked potato meal and friendship to between 60 and
80 people in the church hall next door to the church.
Other social concern projects supported by St Nic’s include:
- Family Care supporting families and children through social work services, counselling and adoption
- Emmanuel House, providing day care and meals to homeless in Nottingham
- Framework Housing Association (formerly Macedon Trust) providing housing and care for the homeless
- Support and care to some of the many refugees now being housed in Nottingham
- The Vine, a Christian based project in Hyson green
A number of other projects/activities are also supported as needed. Please contact the church office for more details on these organisations.
